Here is a brief summary of what I will be doing come July 1, 2011--
The Purpose:
The aim of the DTS is to prepare messengers of the gospel, helping students to know God in depth. The goal is to form Christian character and establish Biblical relationships while developing a daily walk with God.
The Run down...
I will be joining YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in San Jose, Costa Rica, for my five month mission. The first part of the program (3 months) will consist of a discipleship training school, which is designed to prepare students for ministering cross culturally. The second part of the program is the outreach (2 months), where our team from San Jose will travel to a different country (unknown at this time) to minister and serve the needs of the community. Each day will be different, and we will be ready and willing to help as needed- this could mean working in an orphanage, school, the local church, a village, or sharing the gospel on the streets of Central America. YWAM is a widespread organization, with more than 1,000 locations; ministering in over 149 countries. Their impact over the past 50 years has been huge and it will be beyond exciting to join their ministry!

80 more days, but who's counting?
This will soon be my home away from home....God is just so incredible!
"Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
Therefore I hope in Him!”

iBienvenidos!
Hello family and dear friends–Welcome to my new Blog!
As most of you may or may not know, I recently got accepted into the DTS program this July at San Jose, Costa Rica and am beyond stoked! God has really begun a work in me these past couple of months and I literally can not wait to go and spend 5 months just learning about Him, meeting new people and certainly be engulfed in a new and exciting culture. As I prepare for my upcoming trip, I will be on here periodically sharing what is going on in my life as well as updating everyone what I will be doing down in Costa.
I am new at this so my blog might be under construction for awhile, along with my indecisive choosing of blog themes–so don’t be shocked if every time you read my blog I got new fonts, styles and pictures–I’m not one to make up my mind about things like this!
..To add to this awesome experience that I am about to embark on, I am so humbled and grateful to have the support of all of you and can’t express my gratitude of all the support I have received already; whether it be with your words, actions and faithful friendships... I am truly thankful for how God utilizes people in my life to show me love and compassion; it is truly amazing to say the least.
–In a few days I’ll be posting more info on the whole program so you guys can get a feel of what Im doing, but until then Dios Te Vendiga mis amigos!
