Birthday PresentS.

So it is official. I’ve been here for over a week now and I fall more and more in love with this place by the second. This last week and weekend has been such an emotional and spiritual awakening, it’s hard to put everything in words the things that are happening down here.
The topic of last week’s class was Intimacy with God and it was a great way to start our class. Vanessa, a speaker from Costa Rica, gave such insight and valid points for the purpose of our lives. To grow in a true intimate relationship with God is and is going to be the desire of my heart.  As He is starting a transformation in me from the inside out, I can’t help but fall even more in love with Him. I have never been happier experiencing God in so many ways in such surroundings.
So every day I have been assigned to a “Family Contribution” shared with Becky and Kristen. This entails sweeping and mopping the whole base, cleaning the tables, washing the windows, watering the plants and cleaning the small kitchen... and let me tell you, it is no walk in the park. By the end, I have touched dirty heads mops, I stink and have sweated to the point that I need my second shower of the day; however I do get to blast my IPOD so that’s a big plus.
So after a week full of classes filled with tears, emotions, triumphs, revelations, brokenness, and knowledge;   We had our first fellowship night (Friday night) which included a bon fire, completed with roasting mallows and chiky (graham crackers coated with chocolate)..MmmmmMMMM! It was so much fun dancing around the fire and singing to Brandon’s guitar. I know it sounds corny, but I seriously love my DTS. Everyone is just puzzle pieces fitting together oh so perfectly. It hasn’t even been a week and I am just astounded how much I have seen them grow and am excited to see where we will all be at the end of these 5 months.
The next day we went to Jaco, which is a beach town on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. After the 2 hour car ride filled with ‘Would You Rather’, we made it to the beach in one piece. The first beach was filled with rocks and shore breaks so it was more of a work out than anything else, but the second beach was pure bliss. The sand was so smooth, the water was almost too warm and the sun was shining—no rain! Whoop! But to actually be out enjoying the beauty of the country was the best gift God could have given me for my 24th Birthday. He just knows me oh so well!

On the way home we stopped at Alligator Bridge and believe you me, it is named Alligator Bridge for a reason:

Pretty legit huh?! Well during this time over the bridge it started to POUR so we didn’t spend much time there....
When we got home I was exhausted, but needed to wash my clothes so El and I hand washed our clothes for the first time (me) and let me tell you, I absolutely loved it! We had such a great conversation, just washing away our worries listening to the sounds of nature. That two totally different people coming together and having an abundance amount in common is all Jesus... I have come to find out that doing household chores, helping one another, engaging in one on one conversation has made me appreciate the little things. During our talk Kristen came up and it was just God’s divine planning because we ended up having the best conversation. Who knew doing chores could be so monumental?!

Anyways, Today is Aaron and I’s 24th Birthday (Hence my wonderful, perfect breakfast) and I really can’t believe we are this old. I woke up with such joy that I was laying with my sleeping bag, it was 5:30 and to look outside and know that I was in Costa Rica...Well I could have cried—but that happens to me all the time now so it’s not a big deal! And then I was awakened by sweet Cherise whispering “Montana...its your birthday” and that immediately put a smile on my face and knew it was going to be a good day. During breakfast they all sang to me and Jimmy...Jimmy is my little Birthday buddy, we share the same awesome day of birth—so we got to celebrate it together. I really am just so thankful for where I am right now, in this very moment. There is no place I would rather be, living for my God and doing his will has given me the sense of belonging again. I am so grateful for the friends I have made here, they truly made me feel so special today. Thank you Jesus for such an awesome, beautiful, perfect Birthday!

A time for Prayers:....Today was the first day we prayed for our Outreach so it would be great if you all could be praying for this too since we want to really follow where God leads and not by our own hearts. I know it is early in the game, but prayer is a very powerful thing!

Until next time mis amigos!
